PLAYROOM FIT FOR A PRINCESS

Lately, I’ve been so busy organizing that I’ve fallen behind on actually posting all of my projects.  So, I’m making a commitment to do better at this…even if it means getting up earlier or going to bed later.  And with my calendar already being booked solid for the next two months, that’s exactly what it’s going to take.  I’m not complaining though, this a great problem to have!  I’m more than thankful for all of my amazing clients that need my organizational assistance!

Okay, let’s jump right into the magical world of fairy tales & princesses!  Last month, I had the pleasure of transforming the cutest little 6 year olds playroom into a magical wonderland while she was away on vacation with her family.  This little girl is obsessed with princesses, fairy tales, barbies & anything pink, to say the least.  With me being the Mommy of two boys, it was a treat reliving the princess parties of my past.  During this magical organizing adventure, I MAY have brushed the golden locks of a few Barbies, & I MAY have even tried on a tiara or two while belting out “A Whole New World” from Aladdin.   Seriously, who am I kidding…of course I did! 👸 Okay, back to the organizing business before I belt out “A Whole New World” again. This playroom was probably one of the largest playrooms I’ve organized, however, square footage doesn’t always equate to a functional space. This large room had absolutely NO storage for all the princess paraphernalia, so I chose to install Elfa Storage Systems from The Container Store to solve the problem.  Another goal I had, was to group everything into “like” categories & make different play stations through out the playroom.  It just makes good organizational sense to do it this way, plus, it makes it a lot easier for a 6 year old to keep it clean & organized when things are grouped & labeled.

Let’s take a look at the photos of the playroom BEFORE I worked my magic:

Now let’s take a stroll through the fairy tale wonderland AFTER Tinker-bell waved her wand & sprinkled her magical, organizing pixie dust all through out the clutter.

Since this room is so large & I created so many different stations, I’m going to take you around the room in a Counter-Clockwise direction & show you each station & what type of organizing each station entailed.

First stop…

Oh & I can’t forget the cedar closet where all the toys & games are now living!

Here it is BEFORE:

Here’s what I turned it into after adding some new wire shelving & using a couple of the storage shelving that were originally in the playroom:

And that wraps it up for this organizational transformation by Mind Over Matter! This is literally the longest post ever! This princess needs a nap!

Until next time….
