GETTING THE MOORES ORGANIZED FOR BACK TO SCHOOL

It’s that time of year again! Back to school! Mind Over Matter has been working very diligently to get all my clients with kids organized & ready to dive into the new school year with an A+ in organization! Yes, I’m an overachiever like that. 😉 I can’t rest until I know my clients are prepared in the best, most organized way possible to get their little geniuses out of the door & on to school with flawless execution.

Meet Casey…she is the super busy Mom of three adorable little kiddos. There is Davis, 6, Dylan, 5, & Jack Preston, 3. Yes, I said 6, 5 & 3. She’s busy beyond measure. I’m actually tired just thinking about it! Not only are her kids busy with school & preschool, but they are also involved in A LOT of extra-curricular activities. She needed a way to keep all of their family activities organized in a common area, so that everyone stays on the same page as to what is happening & when it is happening. She also wanted a way to keep the kid’s school papers/forms/homework organized so that nothing is ever forgotten about. And last but not least, she wanted a place to display the kid’s art. As you can imagine, with three little Picasso’s there is an exponential amount of art work brought home!

Casey & I collaborated on the best place to create these spaces in order for it to be the most functional for their everyday routine. We decided on the hallway that the kids use in the mornings to exit the kitchen when leaving for school.

Let’s take a look at the hallway BEFORE:

This hallway was a great canvas for me to put my organizational creativity to work, & I was in heaven creating the project you are about to see.

FIRST: A magnetic chalkboard framed with gold trim to display all of the amazing artwork the kids create.

NOTE – The Rust-Oleum magnetic paint says that it only takes 3 coats. Ummm…not quite. It takes 6 coats to get a good magnetic hold strong enough for thick art paper.

I even put a metal rolling bin under the kid’s cubbies to house all the extra-curricular equipment for easy access as they are running out of the house to their next event.

As the new school year gets underway, make sure you are an overachiever by being organized.

And as I tell my kids as they walk out of the door…DON’T FORGET TO BE AWESOME!!! 😄
